What is the Alliance for Wisconsin Youth?
The Alliance is a program of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, in the Bureau of Prevention, Treatment and Recovery.
The Alliance’s purpose is to enhance and support the capacity of local Alliances (member coalitions) in their substance abuse prevention and youth development work. Over 100 local coalitions are members of the Alliance.
Local Alliances consist of representatives of at least five (5) community sectors. Community sectors may include, but are not limited to:

Benefits of Alliance membership:
- Technical Assistance, training, consultation, and information and referral for: 1) building successful, sustainable community coalitions; 2) using evidence-based substance abuse prevention and positive youth development strategies; and 3) developing substance abuse prevention and youth development programs.
- Opportunities to attend learning, sharing and networking events at low or reduced costs.
- Opportunities to apply for competitive funding grants for coalition improvement and local public education programs, and for scholarships to prevention conferences.
- Free access to the membership directories of the Wisconsin Community Papers and the Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association.
- Free access to national, state and regional information.
